The importance of being able and willing to think critically is undisputed. Critical thinking is essential to:

– complete a study successfully
– conduct research
– be able to deal with information and sources meticulously
– pursue a successful career in the rapidly innovating professional field, for which the ability to make evidence-based decisions is of increasing importance

Being able to form independent judgments is also necessay to enable citizens to function in a democracy, and, indeed, for the perpetuation of democracy itself.
